Dr. Kyle Mattson

Kyle Mattson

In 2011, Kyle Mattson received his Ph.D. in English Studies from Illinois State University. Now an assistant professor at the University of Central Arkansas, Kyle teaches subjects in technical communication, cross-cultural communication, and first-year writing. In areas of research, his interests center on intercultural technical communication and usability research. In particular, Kyle is interested in how these aspects of technical communication intersect both with nongovernmental organizations as sites of practice and with human rights policy in economic zones of hyper development in the “global South.” Kyle recalls fondly an earlier teaching experience at Singapore’s Ngee Ann Polytechnic where he taught technical report writing and other English-language courses to students of urban and rural Southeast Asia and China.
