My love of Spanish started from a young age, sitting at my parents’ kitchen table learning the basics. I knew once I reached high school that I wanted to study the language more seriously and applied to Eastern Illinois University where I received my undergraduate degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies. It was at EIU that I first learned of Sigma Delta Pi and became involved in the organization. When I decided to pursue a master’s degree I knew that I was going to focus on my passion of Spanish. I was overjoyed to discover that ISU had an active chapter of SDP and have enjoyed being a part of the group this year. In the coming years, I plan to pursue a second master’s degree in Theatre in order to prepare myself to obtain my doctoral degree in Absurdist Latin American Theatre. I am very excited to join both of my passions in order to fulfill deficits in both departments in their respective (and opposite) departments. While these are my professional goals, my personal one is to visit every Spanish speaking country before I die. I am excited for next year and am so proud to see  what our group has accomplished this year!
