New York City Neighborhood Revitalization Fellowship Program

Program Connects Full-Time, Paid Fellows With Community-Based Organizations To Complete Commercial Revitalization Projects.

This New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) has opened applications for this fellowship program which supports commercial revitalization projects across the New York City. The program pairs neighborhood development professionals with community-based organizations to offer dedicated support for these projects. The full-time, paid fellows will work on their revitalization projects over 10 months.

The fellowship program is part of Neighborhood 360°, a SBS initiative dedicated to strengthening commercial corridors that anchor the city’s neighborhoods. The fellows program, which is currently wrapping up a successful pilot period that concludes in March, is now accepting applications for its second cohort through Sunday, March 12th.

Program participants will receive a $33,000 stipend and health benefits.

Qualifications:

  • New York City residency
  • One or more year(s) of community outreach, organizing, and/or planning experience
  • Familiarity with designated New York City neighborhoods
