What is COM Week?
The School of Communication Promotions & Development Team is a group of student interns who work together like a public relations agency to promote professional learning and involvement. Each spring semester, the team hosts COM Week. This week long event includes panels of professionals, various alumni and keynote speakers. Each panel and speaker provides important messages and advice to students about working in the field of communication. This week is an oppurtunity to learn, grow, network and discover possibilities. Students may also take advantage of the Career Institute, boasting over 25 professional networking opportunities divided into two segments. The education segment allows students to ask questions about resumes, portfolios and interviewing answered by professionals. The networking segment allows students to meet with recruiting professionals from corporations, institutions and small businesses. Talk to professionals one-on-one to gain more insight on the job search and how to navigate it. The Career Institute is perfect for all students regardless of your major or year in school.
Awards & Scholarships Luncheon
The Awards & Scholarships Luncheon is a way for students to showcase their talent and recognize other students in the School of Communication that are doing outstanding things. Students will be presented their certificate and have the opportunity to meet the donor family of their awarded scholarship at the luncheon during COM Week.
