Sept. 6@7:30pm – Food and drinks provided. We will announce Bookstore volunteer raffle winners and tie-dye in the Quad.
Sept. 20@7:30pm – Organic Chemistry Night! Come hear Dr. Mitchell speak on Chemophobia and learn more about SN1, SN2, E1, and E2 mechanisms in small groups.
Sept. 16 2:30-4:30pm – Family Weekend at ISU – Perform demonstrations for family visiting the Chemistry Department.
Sept. 24 8:30am-3:30pm – Climate Change Workshop in ISU Chemistry Department
Sept. 26 Noon-? – Hands-on demonstrations at Sherman Grade School in Streator, IL for 75 4th graders. Plan to arrive in Streator at noon and start demonstrations at 1pm.
Any Chem Club member applying for a travel grant (up to a $1200 reimbursement) or a summer research grant (up to $500) must have worked a minimum of 4 hours in the bookstore to be eligible. However, working more shifts in the bookstore will result in a larger travel/research grant. We will be having a raffle this semester. Anyone who works a minimum of 4 hours in the bookstore will also be entered into a raffle to win one of ten $20 prepaid Visa gift cards. The raffle will be held at the first Chemistry Club meeting on Tuesday September 6 at 7:30 pm in the Chemistry Resource Room (Julian Hall 215). We will meet in the resource room where refreshments will be served, and then head out to the quad to tie dye. Please bring any white items you would like to tie dye such as t-shirts, lab coats, bandannas, or socks. We will provide the dyes.
You can sign up to work in the Chemistry Club bookstore by using the following link. Please enter your full name and email in the slot corresponding to the shift you would like to work.
The Chemistry Club are selling lab manuals for fall courses.
Students can order online (use the link above) and then must show a valid student ID to pick them up at the Chemistry Resource Room (Julian 215) or CASH purchase at the Resource Room as well. Hours: 8:50 AM to 3PM August 17-21 & August 24-28.
Students may contact the lab manual representatives if they have questions or plan to pick-up manuals at alternate times, please contact (Raz: firstname.lastname@example.org or Zach: email@example.com ).

All lab manuals can be paid by Credit card (see the website below) (https://secure.touchnet.com/C20868_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=53&SINGLESTORE=true) and pick up manuals in Julian 215 (Chemistry Resource Room) from 8:50 AM to 3PM January 12-16 & January 19-23.
