Dr. German Blanco is joining Illinois State University as an assistant professor in the Department of Economics. He holds a B.A. in Agribusiness Management from Zamorano University in Honduras, an M.Sc. in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
His areas of specialization are Labor Economics, Applied Econometrics, and Public Economics. He has published two papers, “The Effects of Job Corps Training on Wages of Adolescents and Young Adults,” with A. Flores-Lagunes and C. Flores in American Economic Review P&P and “Bounds on Average and Quantile Treatment Effects of Job Corps Training on Wages,” with A. Flores-Lagunes and C. Flores in The Journal of Human Resources.
Dr. Blanco is married with two children and is a citizen of Honduras. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball, watching sports, and playing with his children.
